Mr Gemu Tiru is Public Health Specialist; currently serving as a director for Health system strengthening and special support directorate of Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia ,Ministry of Health. Previously also worked in the same organization Since June 2009 G.C for more than a decade in different directorates in various positions starting as an officer where he later worked as a team leader.
He had participated in preparation and implementation of Health Sector Development Program IV, Health Sector Transformation Plan I, Equity Plan of Action, Health Policy Revision, Development of Pastoralist Policy and National Health Equity Strategic Plan, Quality Strategy and Program specific strategic plan preparation and implementation on Maternal, Newborn, Child, Adolescent and Nutrition, Health system strengthening building blocks and community engagement with particular emphasis on Pastoralist Health Extension Program Optimization.
Lead and Participated in Annual Woreda Base Planning, Implementation, midterm evaluation of Health Sector Transformation Plan, Capacity building, mentoring and technical support on Health Program to regions, addressing Social Determinants of Health through designing and implementing various interventions in developing regions and selected low performing zones in collaboration with different sectors and regularly reviewing performance with Federal Special Support Board members and House of Peoples Representatives.
