The Government of Israel has donated medical equipment and supplies valued at about USD 30,000 in support of Ethiopia’s effort in the prevention and treatment of COVID 19. Israeli Ambassador to Ethiopia, Aleligne Admassu handed over the donation to Minister of Health Dr.Liya Tadesse at a ceremony held on 14 Feb.2022.
Ethiopia has received COVID-19 vaccine support from European Union.
Six EU countries have contributed for this support: France (6746,400), Finland (1699200), Denmark (1560000), Greece (1346400), Italy (1264110), Sweden (480690), and a total of 13,096,800 doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
The handover ceremony was attended by the ambassadors of the countries, embassy representatives and UNICEF officials where they discussed with the Minister of Health, Dr Lia Tadesse.
During the handover ceremony, the Minister of Health, Dr. Lia Tadesse, said that Ethiopian nation defense force is making a significant contribution to the survival of the country and commended the Ethiopian Public Health Institute for their support to the country. she said the support includes 5 million birr and more than 200,000 birr worth of sheets, pajamas and sandals.
