Health and Health Related Institutions Regulatory

Introduction


Health and Health Related Institutions Regulatory Directorate is established to regulate health and health related institutions which are under the federal government and to support regional health regulatory bodies. The directorate has two case teams; Health Institutions Regulation Case Team and Health Related Institutions Regulation Case Team.

Emergency, Injury, and Critical Care

To see excellence in acute care system for healthy, prosperous and productive Ethiopians. 

Mission:


To provide equitable, integrated timely and quality emergency, injury and critical care service through building resilient and collaborative system at all levels that will improve care of the acutely ill and injured and contribute to the realization of UHC.

Disease Prevention And Control

Disease Prevention and Control Directorate is responsible to coordinate communicable and non-communicable disease programs. Accordingly, the Directorate coordinates the designing and development of national strategies, policy guidance, technical guidelines, protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, and intervention packages. Moreover, the Directorate is responsible for ensuring the availability and uninterrupted supply of commodities for the programs, which is mainly done in collaboration with the Ethiopian Pharmaceuticals Supply Agency (EPSA).

Ethiopia has planned to give COVID 19 vaccine for 20% of the population in the first phase. The front-line health care workers, the elderly people,( above the age of 55 years), people above 18 years old with comorbid conditions,  teachers, IDPs, people in refugee camps, and people working in public service are among the prioritized people to take the vaccine.
