Objective of the unit:

The objective of Medical Services directorate is to improve the quality of health services and utilization by the population through reorganizing the health service delivery system. It aims to:

  • Implement decentralized management to ensure full community participation.
  • Develop and implement essential health service package and referral system.
  • Develop health facility standards and staff, and equip health facilities.

Disease Prevention and Control

The health policy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia has given due emphasis to promotive and preventive interventions coupled with basic curative services. Consequently, the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention General Directorate (HPDP-GD) has been established to achieve greater public satisfaction by engaging communities and families in the inception, implementation and evaluation of health programms.

Women’s and social Affairs Inclusive Implementation Executive Office

Vision

“To see women, children, youth and persons with different types of Impairment/ disability equally participate and benefit from the health services of the highest possible quality equitably."

Mission

To ensure that women, children, youth, and Persons with disability-related issues are effectively addressed and, mainstreamed in all policies and programs implemented by the health sector and realize that women are empowered to shoulder decision-making positions.

Health Information Technology Directorate in the health sector works to improve Quality service delivery; To improve accessibility and equity; Implement health services with the help of indigenous and innovative technologies; It is working to implement health information technology in the health sector to enable timely, quality data collection, use and transmission.
